Positive Pawspectives is a positive-reinforcement dog training practice based in Cork City, serving all of Cork and West Cork in person, and worldwide online.
We specialise in the two most formative windows of a dog's life: puppyhood and adolescence. This is when patterns are set — and where small, kind, consistent training has the biggest lifelong impact.
Every class, consult, and course is grounded in modern behavioural science. No fear, no force, no gadgets. Just clear communication, good games, and a training experience that both ends of the leash actually enjoy.
I'm a dog trainer with a background in veterinary nursing and animal welfare. Over the years I've worked with puppies and dogs in many settings — from assisting in veterinary clinics and supporting assistance-dog puppy foster volunteers, to running my own training practice in West Cork. Everything I do is shaped by one question: "What is the kindest, clearest way to help this dog and family succeed?"
I set up Positive Pawspectives because I kept meeting owners who were overwhelmed by conflicting advice. My goal is to give you straightforward, science-based guidance that fits real life, and to make sure you feel supported rather than judged.
Puppy Foster Care Supervisor, 2021–2026
I supervised and supported puppy foster volunteers across Munster, helping families raise confident, well-socialised puppies ready for advanced training. This taught me how to coach owners through the early weeks when habits matter most.
Owner & Trainer, 2017–2019
I ran my own training business, working directly with puppies and adolescent dogs and their owners. This is where I learned that every household is different — the best training plan is the one you can actually stick to.
Registered Veterinary Nurse & BSc (Hons) First Class
My years in veterinary practice gave me a strong understanding of dog health, body language, and welfare. That medical lens helps me spot when a behaviour issue might need a vet check, and it reassures owners that their dog's wellbeing always comes first.
I reward the behaviours I want to see more of. Dogs learn faster when training is enjoyable, and it builds trust between you and your dog.
Puppyhood and the teenage months are when the big lessons stick. I help you get ahead of common issues like biting, jumping, recall, and lead walking.
Your schedule, your home, your goals. I give practical steps you can fit into daily life, not rigid routines that fall apart after a day.
Modern behavioural science is the foundation, but I explain it in plain English so you always know why we're doing what we're doing.
